Limits English learner open enrollment and funds their transportation The bill lets English learner weighting funds pay for transporting students, including to nonpublic schools. It allows open enrollment for English learners only if the receiving district has suitable special instruction and space, and sets what the home district pays.
Official title A bill for an act relating to English learners, including by modifying provisions related to open enrollment and the payment of costs incurred in transporting English learners to nonpublic schools, and including applicability provisions.(Formerly HSB 557.)
