SSB 1066

Redefines grooming behavior for educator reporting to licensing board

This bill changes the legal definition of grooming behavior used when schools must report licensed employees to the Board of Educational Examiners. Grooming would mean building trust and emotional connections with a student with the intent to exploit them, instead of the current focus on enticing a student into a sex act.

Official title

A bill for an act relating to mandatory reporting to the board of educational examiners of licensed school employees who engage in grooming behavior toward students.(See SF 273.)
