Requires special education and English learner training for teacher candidates
Starting July 2027, teacher preparation programs must add practicum hours on serving students with disabilities and English learners, and students must pass an end-of-program assessment. The state education department will set assessments and passing scores, and applicants for special education teaching licenses must complete a required self-paced course.
